AmeriCorps Academic Support Provider
Serving in the classroom and during afterschool time, AmeriCorps volunteers will: -Support the teacher by assisting with small group instruction and activities -Develop relationships with students and faculty to enable planning for appropriate and meaningful afterschool activities -Work as part of the multidisciplinary team to decrease absenteeism, improve academic outcomes and engage students in learning Participate in professional development to: -Foster work with MLL students and students with diverse learning styles -Develop skills on addressing behaviors in and out of the classroom -Develop skills in program development and curriculum -Gain skills and understanding of youth development at various ages During out of school time programs: -Provide homework help during transition times -Maintain attendance logs -Assist in preparation of daily curriculum -Deliver daily activities -Act as liaison with students' families -Recruit volunteers for the program and HCS
