STEM Instructor

Pay Rate: $20.00 / hour (Special Pay Structure: Paid for 2 hours for every 1-hour class taught to cover prep, setup, and cleanup time)

At Bricks 4 Kidz, we introduce children to science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) concepts using LEGO® bricks, motorized models, and coding platforms. We deliver engaging, hands-on after-school programs, workshops, and camps that foster creativity and problem-solving skills in a fun environment.

Position Summary

We are seeking enthusiastic, energetic, and reliable instructors to lead our after-school STEM and robotics classes. As an instructor, you will guide students through building custom LEGO models, introducing basic engineering principles, and supporting hands-on learning.

This position offers flexible part-time hours, making it ideal for college students, educators, or anyone passionate about STEM education.

Key Responsibilities

Lead interactive 60-minute STEM and robotics lessons using provided Bricks 4 Kidz curriculum and kit materials.

Arrive early to manage classroom setup, organize building kits, and greet arriving students.

Assist students with model assembly, troubleshooting, and understanding core STEM concepts.

Maintain classroom management, ensuring a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment.

Pack up materials and leave the classroom facility clean and organized after each session.

Position Requirements

Background Check: Must successfully pass a mandatory CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information) and SORI (Sex Offender Registry Information) background check prior to employment.

Transportation: Reliable personal transportation to travel to assigned school or venue locations.

Experience: Prior experience working with elementary-age children (teaching, tutoring, camp counseling, or childcare) preferred.

Skills: Strong communication skills, adaptability, and an enthusiastic approach to hands-on learning. Interest in basic robotics or coding (e.g., Micro:bit, Python, MakeCode) is a plus, but full training on our curriculum is provided.

Compensation & Perks

Base Rate: $20.00 / hour.

2-for-1 Pay Structure: For every 1 hour of active class instruction, you will be paid for 2 full hours to cover your setup, cleanup, prep work, and administrative time.

Provided Resources: All lesson plans, building kits, models, and teaching materials are fully provided.
