The New London Homeless Hospitality Center (NLHHC) seeks a part-time Diversion Specialist to support the greater Norwich Community.  The Diversion Specialist will support NLHHC’s mission to provide hospitality and a bridge to permanent housing for adults experiencing homelessness in southeastern Connecticut.

 

Location: Norwich & New London, CT

Compensation: $22.60 to $26.00 per hour (based on experience); Mileage reimbursement for work-related travel

The Role: Diversion from Homelessness

Be the first point of connection for people experiencing homelessness or housing instability and help them find safe alternatives to shelter.

 

What You'll Do:

  • Conduct CAN assessments
  • Build diversion plans
  • Connect to housing and resources
  • Document in HMIS
  • Work independently in Norwich

 

What You Bring:

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Trust building
  • Independent work style
  • Valid driver's license
  • *Bonus: social services experience, Norwich knowledge, bilingual (English and Spanish)
