Expanded Learning Time (ELT) Group Leader

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

Framingham Public Schools seeks candidates whose background, teaching, or service has prepared them to contribute to our commitment to diversity and inclusion in all aspects of education. Also, we are interested in candidates who will bring to their professional practice the perspective that comes from a non-traditional educational background or an understanding of the experiences of those underrepresented in the educational field.

  • A high school diploma is required; additional post-secondary education credits in a related field are preferred.
  • A minimum of one year of experience as an educator in a school or community-based setting is required.
  • Basic knowledge of effective youth development and OST principles, practices, and trends is required.
  • Experience working with children and adults from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds is required.
  • Experience with curriculum design and lesson planning is preferred.
  • Fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese is strongly preferred

  • Ability to work with diverse populations of students, including students with disabilities and multilingual learners.
  • Strong capacity to build and maintain positive relationships with children, staff, families, and supervisors.
  • Capacity to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form.
  • Willingness to engage in positive, proactive and restorative conflict resolution processes
  • High level of professionalism, including the ability to follow all district, state, and federal requirements, such as those required by the MA Department of Early Education and Care (Elementary) and DESE 21st Century Community Learning Center programs (Secondary)
  • Capacity to respond flexibly to multiple priorities in a fast-paced and complex working environment,
  • Ability to receive constructive feedback and willingness to learn new skills to meet the needs of students and families,
  • Familiarity with Google Suite and other technologies as required by the program,

  • In collaboration with the ELT coordinator, create and facilitate a high-quality, academically enriching curriculum
  • Maintain accurate attendance records and ensure appropriate supervision of all students at all times.
  • Respond to and document emergency situations, injuries, and incidents appropriately and in alignment with EEC and/or district regulations.
  • Inspire students to set and achieve ambitious academic and personal goals.
  • Communicate with families, colleagues, and school staff to support student growth and hold students to consistently high expectations.
  • Serve as a role model for students by exemplifying the highest standards of professionalism under FPS core values.
  • Maintain a safe and supportive environment for all students, ensuring full inclusion of students with special needs and multilingual learners.
  • Attend and support family engagement activities and other special events as needed.
  • Attend monthly meetings and other required professional development.
  • Perform other reasonable duties as requested by the Coordinator.
