💻 Turn Ideas Into Interactive Projects
We’re looking for an enthusiastic Scratch Programming Instructor to introduce young learners to coding through fun, creative, and hands-on projects.
Students will use Scratch to create animations, games, interactive stories, and other projects while learning the fundamentals of programming. You’ll help them understand coding concepts in a way that feels more like creating and playing than traditional computer science instruction.
You don't need to be a professional programmer or experienced teacher. If you’re comfortable with Scratch or have a foundation in coding and enjoy working with children, you may be a great fit.
Curriculum guidance and instructional materials are provided, so you’ll have the support you need while still having room to bring your own creativity and teaching style.
🎯 What You'll Do
- Lead fun, interactive Scratch programming sessions for young learners
- Introduce students to basic coding and computational thinking concepts
- Teach concepts such as sequences, loops, events, conditionals, variables, and debugging in an age-appropriate way
- Guide students in creating games, animations, interactive stories, and other projects
- Demonstrate coding techniques clearly and break down concepts into manageable steps
- Help students troubleshoot and understand why their code works—or doesn't
- Encourage creativity, experimentation, and independent problem-solving
- Challenge students to expand and improve their projects
- Adapt instruction to different ages, abilities, and learning styles
- Encourage collaboration and positive peer interaction
- Provide constructive feedback and celebrate student progress
- Maintain a safe, organized, and supportive classroom environment
- Communicate professionally with program coordinators and school staff
- Arrive prepared, dependable, and ready to inspire young creators
🌟 What We're Looking For
You don't need to be a professional software developer or traditional teacher. We're looking for someone who can make coding approachable, creative, and fun for young learners.
You may be a great fit if you have:

- A basic understanding of programming and computational thinking
- Strong problem-solving and creative-thinking skills
- Ability to explain technical concepts clearly and patiently
- A genuine interest in technology, coding, or education
- Patience, enthusiasm, and an encouraging personality
- Comfort leading groups of young learners
- Reliability, professionalism, and a positive attitude
- Willingness to follow provided curriculum while bringing your own creativity
Teaching experience is a plus, but not required. Experience in coding, computer science, STEM programs, tutoring, camps, youth programs, mentoring, or education is helpful.
Coders, programmers, computer science students, STEM enthusiasts, Scratch users, college students, recent graduates, aspiring educators, and technology enthusiasts are all encouraged to apply.
