Role Summary
Bankers Insurance Group is transitioning its independent agency partners to a new software platform for quoting and writing business. This intern supports the Distribution sales team as the central point of contact for agency communication during that rollout — keeping questions and concerns organized, maintaining steady communication with agencies, and escalating technical issues to the right people. This is a sales support role, not a help desk role: the focus is on relationship management, organization, and follow-through.
Primary Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for incoming agency questions and concerns about the new platform
- Log and organize all incoming communication in a central tracker so no request or commitment is lost
- Maintain consistent, proactive outbound communication to agencies — status updates, reminders, and follow-up on open items
- Partner with Distribution sales reps to prepare for agency touchpoints and follow up on what was promised
- Distinguish questions the sales team can answer directly from issues that need technical support, and escalate with clear, complete detail
- Track escalated items through to resolution and close the loop with the agency
- Identify recurring questions and help build reusable FAQ and quick-reference material for agencies and the sales team
- Provide a weekly summary of open items, volume, and recurring themes to Distribution leadership
Required Skills and Characteristics
- Excellent written and verbal communication; comfortable interacting with external business partners
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with dependable follow-through
- Ability to prioritize competing requests and manage an active queue
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook
- Comfortable learning new software quickly and explaining it in plain language
- Able to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Coursework or interest in business, marketing, communications, sales, or risk management and insurance
- Previous customer-facing, client service, or account support experience
- Exposure to CRM or shared tracking tools (e.g., Salesforce, SharePoint, Excel trackers)
