Civil Technician

This Opportunity: 

Assist engineers with planning and design tasks, as well as field-based project oversight

Calculate dimensions and prepare detailed dimensional design layouts for projects

Interpret engineering designs and draft project information using software programs

Prepare drawings, schematics, and exhibits for project reports and plans

Calculate quantities and cost estimates for construction projects

Monitor construction activities on transportation, civil, and municipal infrastructure projects to support compliance with approved plans and specifications

Document daily field and inspection activities, including material sampling, testing, and quantity measurements

Assist with preconstruction meetings, progress meetings, and project updates

Maintain accurate, timely project documentation and reporting

Mix of in office design work along with outside construction inspection as needed

Essential Qualifications 

Associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a related field

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with project teams, clients, and contractors

Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to maintain clear and accurate project documentation

Willingness to travel as needed for project meetings, client visits, and field observations

Experience using AutoCAD and Bluebeam through coursework, internships, or previous employment

Interest in land development, municipal, and civil infrastructure projects. 

Preferred Qualifications 

Previous experience in civil design, construction inspection, or construction-related field work

Experience supporting land development, municipal, transportation, civil infrastructure, or public works projects

Familiarity with construction documentation, quantity calculations, field observations, and project reporting

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

Advanced experience with AutoCAD
