International School of Indiana Lower School Child Care Specialist

Overview
The Child Care Specialist is responsible for providing care and active supervision to children while maintaining a physically and emotionally safe environment. The Child
Care Specialist assists the child care director in the implementation of programming and interacts positively with parents, other staff, and school personnel to develop and maintain trusting relationships.
Responsibilities include:
● Plan and maintain a consistent routine and classroom management using a supportive, positive redirection approach
● Maintain accurate daily records and document children’s developmental progress and interest
● Provide care and active supervision to children and demonstrate an elevated level of responsiveness to needs as they arise maintaining a physically and emotionally safe environment for learning
Preferred qualifications, skills and experience:
● Experience with the Primary Years Program or early childhood education
● Language Fluency in Spanish, French, or Mandarin (not required)
● International outlook and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations
● Strong interpersonal skills
Pay is $16.50/hour
