Engineering Intern
Position Overview:
Asahi Kasei Bioprocess America, Inc. is seeking a motivated and curious Engineering Intern to support the specification, design, manufacture, documentation, and qualification of custom and standard capital equipment used in pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical product manufacturing. Example equipment types include chromatography, buffer formulation, virus filtration, and oligonucleotide synthesis systems. This internship provides hands-on experience within a collaborative engineering environment, ideal for students interested in life-science equipment and process technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist project teams throughout various project-related activities.
Interface with vendors as appropriate to support equipment development and procurement.
Communicate and collaborate with internal and external customer stakeholders.
Support mechanical and/or electrical assembly of equipment.
Assist with commissioning, testing, and validation of assembled equipment.
Manage and prioritize multiple concurrent assignments.
Bring a curious, energetic, and customer-focused mindset to daily tasks.
Offer suggestions for process, documentation, or design improvements where applicable.
Qualifications:
Current student pursuing a degree in engineering (mechanical, chemical, electrical, biomedical, or related field).
Strong interest in pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical manufacturing technologies.
Willingness to engage in hands-on technical work.
Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
Self-motivated with a problem-solving mindset.
