Video Editor Intern
Video Editor Intern
The Zero Hour Group | Remote (US)
About Us
The Zero Hour Group is a defense and drone-focused research and media company. We produce long-form interviews with defense industry leaders, short-form video for social platforms, and written analysis covering unmanned systems and next generation defense technology. Our content runs across YouTube, X, Substack and we're looking to expand into other platforms.
The Role
We're looking for a video editor intern to work directly under our lead editor and take ownership of a growing production pipeline. This is a hands-on role with real training. You'll learn our full workflow, from field production to final publish, and see how content moves from concept to pilot to production. You'll take on more responsibility as you progress in this role.
What You'll Do
- Edit long-form interview content: cutting full conversations into clean, watchable episodes
- Edit short-form vertical video in CapCut to our established style spec
- Clean and process audio, including running problem audio through enhancement tools like Adobe Podcast Enhance
- Assist remotely with on-site production.
- Contribute to production planning: shoot prep, equipment, and episode scheduling
- Keep our social platforms current and organized: uploads, metadata, and content libraries across channels
- Learn our publishing pipeline and help move episodes from raw footage to live on every platform
What We're Looking For
- Working proficiency in a modern editor. We cut in CapCut, so experience there is a plus, but strong fundamentals transfer
- A good ear. You should be able to hear when audio needs work and know what to do about it
- Attention to pacing. Long-form and short-form are different disciplines and we do both
- Organized and reliable. You'll be handling a content library across multiple platforms
- Interest in next generation defense technology, small cap drone defense. You don't need to be an expert, but you should want to learn the subject matter
Nice to Have
- Experience with OBS or other capture/streaming software
- Experience running or maintaining social media accounts for a brand
- Motion graphics or thumbnail design skills
- Familiarity with podcast production workflows
