Academic Success Coach

Position Overview:
The Academic Success Coach will assist in overseeing the vision, planning, and execution of all transfer transition and engagement/degree completion initiatives. Serving as an assistant of the Assistant Directors of Transfer Transition and Engagement, the coach will serve as a liaison for transfer, readmit and adult students, the coach will collaborate with assistant director and other academic departments, student services, and campus resources to facilitate a seamless transition and sustained engagement.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and coordinate orientation and onboarding programs tailored for online and in person transfer and readmit students. 
  • Assist in providing one-on-one academic coaching, creating individualized success plans to address specific needs.
  • Organize workshops and events focused on major exploration, career readiness, financial literacy, campus involvement, transitional.
  • Assist in the strategic planning of communication efforts with transfer, readmit and adult student populations.      Communication efforts include but are not limited to EAB campaign, text messaging/email and social media. 
  • Collaborate with admissions, academic advising, and student affairs to ensure a smooth transition from acceptance through ongoing engagement.
  • Implement data-driven strategies to enhance transfer, readmit and adult student retention and satisfaction. (online and in person initiatives)
  • Establish and oversee a Transfer Peer Mentorship Program to foster peer support and community building.
  • Assist in the supervision and mentoring student workers, providing professional development opportunities.

Performance Expectations:

  • Achieve measurable improvements in transfer and readmit  student retention and engagement metrics.
  • Host a minimum of three events or workshops each semester tailored to transfer student needs.
  • Maintain active engagement with at least 50% (or higher) of new transfer students within their first year.
  • Work with the TTE team in proving comprehensive assessment reports detailing student feedback, program outcomes, and areas for improvement.
