Position Overview:

The Secondary Teacher will design and deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction that challenges students to think critically, communicate effectively, and grow academically and personally.  We are seeking educators who:
 

  • Create dynamic and engaging learning experiences.
  • Foster positive classroom environments built on respect and accountability.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learner needs.
  • Use data to inform instructional decisions.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to strengthen curriculum and instructional practice.

Assignments will be determined based on certification, experience, and district needs.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement standards-based instruction aligned to district curriculum.
  • Establish and communicate clear learning objectives.
  • Assess and monitor student progress using a variety of tools.
  • Maintain accurate academic and attendance records.
  • Support student development both academically and socially.
  • Participate in professional development and district initiatives.
  • Supervise students and uphold district policies.
  • Perform additional duties in support of the total school program.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • Valid MI Teaching Certificate with a secondary endorsement.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Three (3)years of successful teaching experience. 
  • Multiple Michigan teaching endorsements
  • Demonstrated experience integrating instructional technology
  • Willingness to contribute to extracurricular programs or student organizations

  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • Must have the ability and proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis
  • Perform all other related work delegated or required to accomplish the objectives of the total school program.
  • Knowledge and implementation of relevant technology.
  • Meet professional teacher education requirements of the school, district, and state. 
  • Ability to work independently and carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
