Assistant Fashion Designer

We are a growing women’s contemporary fashion brand looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Fashion Designer to join our design team. This is a hands-on position for someone who is passionate about fashion, understands current trends, and wants to grow within a fast-paced wholesale fashion environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist designers with the development of seasonal collections from concept through production
  • Research current and upcoming fashion trends, silhouettes, colors, fabrics, and details
  • Create and update CADs, sketches, line sheets, and design presentations
  • Assist with fabric, trim, color, and print selection
  • Prepare and maintain tech packs and communicate design details clearly
  • Organize samples and track styles throughout the development process
  • Participate in fittings and record fit/design comments and corrections
  • Work closely with designers, production, fit/technical teams, and overseas factories
  • Help prepare collections and samples for buyer meetings, market appointments, and photoshoots
  • Maintain organized design files, fabric/trim libraries, and sample rooms
  • Handle multiple styles and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

  • Degree in Fashion Design or related field preferred
  • 1–3 years of fashion design experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Ability to create CADs and technical flats
  • Understanding of garment construction, fabrics, trims, and fit
  • Strong sense of current women’s fashion trends and commercial product
  • Excellent organization and attention to detail
  • Able to take direction, communicate clearly, and work collaboratively
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
  • Experience with women’s contemporary, junior, or wholesale apparel is a plus
