Preschool Teacher

Pay: $16.90 - $17.50 per hour

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans that promote literacy, math, physical activity, and social-emotional skills
  • Create a welcoming classroom environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and independence
  • Manage daily classroom activities, ensuring smooth transitions between lessons and routines
  • Communicate regularly with parents about their child's progress, behavior, and developmental milestones
  • Apply effective behavior management strategies to support positive social interactions among children
  • Incorporate child development principles and early intervention techniques to support diverse learning needs
  • Maintain accurate documentation of student progress, assessments, and incident reports in compliance with mandated reporting laws
  • Ensure safety by adhering to health guidelines, including first aid and CPR procedures
  • Must have twelve (12) semester units in Early Childhood Education or a related field such as recreation, physical education, or units earned toward an elementary teaching credential.

Skills

  • Extensive experience working with children in preschool or daycare settings
  • Strong knowledge of childhood development stages and early childhood education best practices
  • Proficiency in curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management techniques
  • Ability to communicate effectively with young children, parents, colleagues, and administrators
  • Experience with special education needs and implementing individualized support plans
  • Knowledge of behavior management strategies and child welfare protocols
  • Familiarity with standardized testing methods used in early childhood education settings
  • Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional credentials in early intervention or special education are a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to foster an inclusive environment that respects diverse backgrounds and abilities
  • Skills in teaching physical education activities, literacy education, math concepts, and toddler care
