Job Title: Electrical Engineer

Location:  2300 North Wright Road Alcoa, TN 37701  (100% onsite)

Contract Duration: 12 months with possibility to convert to permanent

Pay $45-65/hr on W2

• Industry: Automotive; highly automated, heavy equipment.
• Team: Official electrical team, including electricians.
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM; high demand, flexibility required. On-call rotation due to 24/7 operations.
• After-Hours Calls: Frequency varies by equipment; quick response needed to maintain production.
• Potential for Hire: Possible full-time hire after 1 year.
• Interview Process: Virtual first, then onsite. Preference for local candidates; open to relocation if needed. 

Technical Skills & Experience

• PLC Experience:
  • Strong PLC knowledge required (Rockwell/Allen-Bradley preferred).
  • Heavy focus on PLC troubleshooting and programming.
  • Experience with Siemens drives (especially hot line/DC drives).
  • Ladder logic proficiency.
• Other Skills:
  • Electrical troubleshooting, reading electrical drawings.
  • Preventive and productive maintenance.
  • Project work: capital expenditure, new equipment design/installation, system improvements.
  • Familiarity with Oracle (CMMS/work orders) and Excel for data tracking. 

Role-Specific Focus

• Emphasis on PLC programming and ladder logic.
• Core troubleshooting (480V, drives, Rockwell PLCs).
• Electrical drawing interpretation.
• Open to innovative ideas.
• Focus on process management and reliability improvement (5–15 year horizon).
• Some capital project involvement.
• Strong PLC and ladder logic skills (not limited to Rockwell).
• Hands-on approach: spend time on equipment, diagnose issues.
• Must-haves: PLC programming, ladder logic, Oracle CMMS (preferred), Excel/data tracking.
