PROJECT MANAGER – RURAL HEALTH TRANSFORMATION (RHTP)
Job Summary
The Project Manager leads One Utah Health Collaborative’s efforts to expand value‑based care across rural Utah by coordinating complex, multi‑stakeholder initiatives involving rural clinicians, payers, and technical partners. This role serves as a strategic operator and skilled convener, responsible for running high‑functioning meetings, maintaining strong relationships, and driving progress across diverse organizations. The Project Manager develops and manages project plans, troubleshoots challenges, and ensures accountability for deliverables while supporting rural providers in adopting value‑based care models. Success in this role requires a self‑directed, innovative professional with strong project‑management skills and a working knowledge of rural healthcare, value‑based care, payer contracting, clinical transformation, quality measurement, data analytics and interoperability, and administrative operations.
Core Responsibilities
- Project Leadership & Strategy: Lead day‑to‑day planning and execution of initiatives that expand value‑based care in rural Utah. Translate strategic goals into actionable project plans and ensure milestones and deliverables are consistently met.
- Convening & Meeting Facilitation: Plan and facilitate structured outcomes‑oriented meetings with rural providers, payers, and technical partners. Ensure discussions drive alignment, resolve barriers, and produce clear next steps.
- Stakeholder & Relationship Management: Build strong, trust‑based relationships with diverse rural organizations, payers, and vendor partners. Serve as a reliable point of coordination, helping stakeholders navigate expectations, timelines, and collaborative responsibilities. Coordinate care models with urban specialty and tertiary care providers for coordinated comprehensive care delivery with an ethos of keeping care local.
- Operational Coordination & Reporting: Manage cross‑organizational workflows to keep information, decisions, and deliverables moving efficiently. Produce clear progress reports and documentation that support accountability and inform leadership and partners. Maintain reporting to various governance workgroups for coordination and engagement.
- Technical & Content Expertise: Apply knowledge of rural healthcare, value‑based care, payer contracting, quality measures, and data interoperability to guide project decisions. Translate technical findings into operational steps that help rural providers advance VBC participation.
- Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to strengthen project design, stakeholder engagement, and implementation efficiency. Recommend and implement improvements that enhance the Collaborative’s statewide impact.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree preferred (MBA, MHA) in Healthcare Administration, Health Services, or Business Administration.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of project or program management experience in healthcare required with demonstrated knowledge of value‑based care, rural health delivery, payer contracting, clinical transformation, quality measurement, and data interoperability.
- Skills: Strong leadership, project‑management, facilitation, and communication skills; highly collaborative with the ability to build relationships across diverse organizations; self‑directed, innovative, and effective at problem‑solving in complex environments.
- Communications: Experience in educating and informing a diverse stakeholder group to build critical mass of support for transformative delivery design.
- Analytical: Financial analytical experience to identify root cause variation and opportunities for program prioritization and outcomes and cost improvement.

Working Conditions
- Work is primarily sedentary in nature and performed in an office environment.
- Travel to client sites and the Collaborative office may be required.
- Involves frequent contact with staff and clients.
- Work may be stressful at times.
Physical Demands
- Work requires hand dexterity for office machine operation; stooping, climbing, and bending to files and supplies; mobility to complete errands; stand/sit for up to eight hours each day.
- Ability to communicate clearly when using the telephone; requires sitting, standing, walking, reaching, bending, lifting, and twisting at times.
Schedule
- Full time Monday through Friday (flexible hours)
- Occasional weekend work or travel to client sites may be required.
- One day minimum per week in office.

- Salt Lake City, UT 84111: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required).
- Hybrid remote in Salt Lake City, UT 84111.
License/Certification
- Driver's License (Required).
Compensation:
- Salary: Full time, exempt position with compensation commensurate with level of experience.
- Benefits: Health, dental, disability. Leave and retirement plan. Flexible work hours, hybrid work position requiring at least one day a week in office.
