Internships at The Arc of Essex County – Fall 2026

Looking for a meaningful way to gain hands-on experience this fall? The Arc of Essex County welcomes current college students and recent college graduates for paid fall internships supporting people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (IDD). Interns will build practical, resume-ready skills, collaborate with a supportive team, and contribute to mission-driven work that makes a direct impact.

Information Technology (IT) Intern 

The IT Intern will support The Arc of Essex’s day-to-day technology operations by assisting with troubleshooting, device setup, user support, and documentation. This internship offers hands-on experience in IT support, systems administration basics, and workplace technology best practices. The intern will collaborate with staff across departments to help ensure technology tools and systems remain secure, functional, and efficient.

  • When: Sep 16, 2026 – Dec 4, 2026 (20 hours/week for 10 weeks) 
  • Pay:  $20 / hour
  • Location: In person at Livingston, NJ
  • You’ll help with:  Supporting the day-to-day technology operations by assisting with staff technical support, equipment setup, troubleshooting, user account management, IT inventory, onboarding/offboarding tasks, system maintenance, cybersecurity support, audiovisual/meeting technology, and documentation of internal IT processes. The intern may also contribute to IT projects such as improving help resources and request workflows, organizing internal knowledge base materials, supporting hardware refresh efforts, and assisting with internal application and workflow development.
  • You’ll build: Practical IT support skills, confidence troubleshooting hardware and software issues, experience with user account and device management, stronger documentation and communication skills, and exposure to cybersecurity, systems maintenance, and internal technology projects in a mission-driven nonprofit setting.
  • Good fit if you’re: A current student or recent grad in any of the following :  Information Technology (IT), Computer Science, Cybersecurity / Information Security, Computer Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Network Administration / Network Engineering or  Data Analytics
