Part-Time Service Coordinator
Job description:
Independent Roofing Company is looking for an organized, dependable, and computer-savvy Part-Time Service Coordinator to assist our Service Department with scheduling, work orders, customer communication, data entry, and basic roof drawings.
This position is ideal for someone with a strong computer background, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to learn new software quickly. Previous roofing or CAD experience is not required—we will train the right person on our roofing processes and drawing software.
Schedule
- Approximately 10–15 hours per week
- Flexible days and hours
- Hours must be worked between 7:00 AM and 3:00 PM, Monday–Friday
- Schedule can be arranged around school, family, or other commitments as long as department needs are met
Responsibilities
- Create, update, and maintain service work orders
- Perform data entry into customer online portals, including service information, reports, photos, repair documentation, and other required information
- Create basic CAD drawings and roof plans using an easy-to-learn drawing program
- Update roof drawings to identify roof sections, equipment, repair locations, and other relevant information
- Coordinate scheduling of service calls, inspections, repairs, and follow-up work
- Communicate professionally with customers by phone and email regarding leaks, roof issues, inspection findings, repairs, and scheduling
- Prepare and send service reports, photos, drawings, and other documentation
- Follow up with customers regarding recommended repairs and outstanding service items
- Coordinate information between customers, service technicians, and Service Department management
- Maintain accurate and organized electronic service records
- Track open work orders and help ensure service items are followed through to completion
- Assist with general data entry and administrative tasks for the Service Department
Qualifications
- Strong computer skills are required
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Proficient with Adobe Acrobat/PDF programs
- Comfortable working in web-based customer portals and learning new software
- Strong data-entry skills with a high level of accuracy
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Professional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple open items and follow up without constant supervision
- Ability to read and understand basic measurements and drawings
- Dependable and able to maintain a consistent weekly schedule
- CAD, construction, roofing, or service coordination experience is helpful but not required
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is very comfortable working on a computer, learns new programs quickly, and enjoys keeping information organized and accurate. This person should be able to move between work orders, customer portals, drawings, emails, reports, and scheduling while making sure details don't fall through the cracks.
Previous roofing knowledge is not required. Computer proficiency, organization, attention to detail, and strong communication skills are much more important—we can teach the roofing side of the position.
