Story Architect (Content & Storytelling Intern- Remote)
The Short Version
The industry keeps recycling the same seven playbooks. We didn't want another one. We wanted an eighth.
About Your Home Page
Working here means life inside an early-stage startup: a small team, fast decisions, and real ownership from day one. There's no ladder of approvals to climb — if you have an idea worth testing, you're pitching it to the team and trying it out that same week. You'll wear more than one hat, priorities can shift day to day, and progress is measured by what actually ships, not hours logged. Interns get real projects instead of busywork, and it's common to see something you built go live to real customers within days. We love using AI and are not afraid to use it to 10x our work.
Your Home Page is a platform that turns social media into a place people can actually shop for homes. Someone sees a post, taps in, and can view the listing or message the agent directly.
The Role
Every piece of content we publish is a story: our founder's story, an agent's story, a buyer's story. As our Story Architect, you'll help find those stories, shape them, and write them into content that makes a scrolling stranger stop and feel something.
You'll write in two distinct voices: Your Home Page as a brand, and Carter Long as a founder. Learning to switch between them is one of the most transferable skills you'll pick up here.
What You'll Do
- Draft captions, carousel copy, reel scripts, and story slides in our brand voice
- Translate customers feedback and wins into case studies and social proof content
- Help develop our founder's story into repeatable content formats
- Write hooks, lots of hooks, and learn quickly which ones earn attention
- Repurpose one piece of content into five (a teaching clip becomes a reel becomes a carousel becomes an email)
- Keep a running bank of story ideas, quotes, and customer language
- Catch every typo. Polish every sentence. Ship it clean.
What You'll Walk Away With
- A published writing portfolio with real reach numbers, not class assignments
- The ability to write in a defined brand voice and switch between voices on demand
- Hands-on experience with the content flywheel: how one asset becomes ten
- Interview and story-mining skills you'll use in any comms or marketing job
Who We're Looking For
- Currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student
- You write a lot, and you like it. School papers, fan fiction, a newsletter, a group chat where you're the funny one
- You can take an edit without taking it personally
- Curious about people; good at asking the second and third question
- Bonus points: writing samples in more than one voice or format
Preferred Majors
English, Creative Writing, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Film & Media
How to Apply
Apply through Handshake with:
- Your resume
- A short note (150 words max) telling us about your career goals. Skip the formal cover letter or AI slop. We'd rather hear how you actually talk and how we can help you achieve your career goals.
- A link to something you've made. A portfolio, a social account you run, a class project, a spreadsheet you're weirdly proud of, a TikTok that did numbers, a school project. Anything. If you don't have one, share a company that inspires you and why.
We review applications on a rolling basis and reply to every applicant. Questions? Email hello@yourhomepage.ai.
Want to show us you read the entire job description? Email us & introduce yourself.
Your Home Page is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applicants of every background, and we especially encourage students who don't see themselves in traditional tech job postings to apply anyway.
