Exterminator (Quality Assurance Engineering Intern- Remote)

The Role
When a homebuyer taps an agent's link and something breaks, that agent loses a lead, and trust. As our Home Inspector, you're the last set of eyes before anything reaches a customer.
You'll test new features, hunt down edge cases, document what you find clearly enough that an engineer can fix it without asking follow-up questions, and help build the testing process itself. QA is one of the fastest ways to learn how software actually gets built, because you touch every part of it.
What You'll Do
- Test new features across browsers and devices before they ship
- Write clear, reproducible bug reports with steps, screenshots, and expected vs. actual behavior (AI is highly encouraged)
- Build and maintain test checklists for our core user flows
- Do regression passes after releases to confirm nothing quietly broke
- Test the customer-facing experience end to end and flag anything confusing, slow, or ugly
- Help us build a QA process where one barely exists yet
What You'll Walk Away With
- Real experience in a software development lifecycle at a shipping startup
- The ability to write a bug report engineers actually thank you for
- Working knowledge of QA tooling, issue tracking, and release process
- A genuinely great story for any technical interview about attention to detail
Who We're Looking For
- Currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student
- Methodical and patient; you like checking things twice
- Clear written communication. This role is 50% writing things down precisely
- Comfortable poking around unfamiliar software without instructions
- Bonus points: any coursework in software testing, CS, or information systems, or experience with tools like Linear, Jira, or GitHub

- Term: Fall 2026 (September – December)
- Location: 100% remote. Work from anywhere in the U.S.
- Schedule: Part-time, approximately 5–20 hours per week, flexible around your class schedule
- Compensation: This is an unpaid internship designed as an educational experience. It is eligible for academic credit where your school allows it, and we'll gladly complete any paperwork your program requires.
