Position Overview: Challenge Island is looking for enthusiastic, creative, and passionate instructors to join our team as After-School STEAM Enrichment Instructors. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with children and are excited to teach an engaging science and engineering curriculum with a fun, island-themed twist. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and deliver after-school classes that combine science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM) concepts with imaginative, hands-on challenges.
  • Create a fun and supportive learning environment where students are encouraged to explore, experiment, and collaborate.
  • Follow provided lesson plans and use supplied materials to facilitate structured yet creative sessions.
  • Engage students in activities that promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork
  • Ensure student safety and well-being during all class sessions.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff, providing updates on student progress and class activities.

Qualifications:

  • Teaching Experience: Must have prior experience teaching or working with preschool or elementary-aged children.
  • Passion for Education: A strong desire to inspire and educate children through innovative and interactive learning experiences.
  • Reliable Transportation: Must have dependable transportation to travel to local elementary schools in Hamilton County and surrounding areas.
  • Background Check: Must be able to pass a Criminal Background Check as required by the school system.
  • Availability: Candidates must be available to teach from 3:00 - 4:30 p.m., 1-3 days per week. This is a part-time role, with a commitment of 1 to 5 hours per week.
