Music Instructor Guitar

Position: Music Instructor- Guitar

 

Wage: $17.13 to $19.15 per hour (Compensation is determined based on relevant experience, skills, and qualifications, with most new hires starting between the minimum and midpoint of the posted wage range)

 

Hours: Part-Time, Up to 25 hours per week

 

Location: Tom Taylor Family YMCA, Gig Harbor, WA

 

As a Music Instructor specializing in guitar, you will be responsible for creating an enjoyable learning environment to inspire students and help them develop a strong foundation of music and instrument skills.

 

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to pass Background and Reference checks (in accordance with the WA State Fair Chance Act).
  • Committed to valuing and promoting diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
  • Able and willing to complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on first day, and other online and in-person training as required.
  • You have 5 years of formal music training (preferred).
  • You have 1-2 years of experience as a music teacher and/or teaching assistant.
  • You are able to instruct beginning and intermediate level music classes
  • You are excited to teach music classes for ages preschool through adult.
  • You have a positive attitude and previous experience with varying ages and diverse populations.

 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Developing lesson plans
  • Demonstrating sound, technical and artistic principles
  • Providing an impactful experience to students
  • Monitoring student progress
  • Communicating program information to students and parents
