Business Development Analyst

About Us

Momentum Youth Brands is an alliance of youth activities and enrichment companies across the country. We partner with founder-operators to build category-leading platforms across the youth market. We utilize a high velocity M&A strategy to ensure rapid growth.

Position Overview

We're hiring a Business Development Analyst to own top-of-funnel deal sourcing — finding, engaging, and qualifying acquisition targets, then handing a warm, well-documented pipeline to the M&A execution team.

This is a hunting role, not a finance role. Your day is outbound calls, emails, and relationship-building with business owners and intermediaries leveraging a data-driven pipeline strategy.

Success in this role looks like consistent generation of new acquisition opportunities for our team, improvement of our understanding of our target market, and contribution to our performance culture.

Candidate Profile

Our ideal candidate is energized by relationship-driven business development. Successful candidates may come from backgrounds in outbound sales, business development, private equity sourcing, or other relationship-focused roles.

Regardless of background, candidates should be comfortable operating in a high-activity, metrics-driven environment and engaging directly with data to continuously improve our process.

This is a highly entrepreneurial environment; we are looking for individuals who are motivated not only by individual performance, but by the growth and development of our team.

Responsibilities

  • Identify Acquisition Targets: Research and identify prospective acquisition opportunities across targeted geographies and market segments.
  • Drive Outbound Activity: Operate with a high level of outbound activity through cold calling, targeted email campaigns, and multi-touch outreach sequences.
  • Build Industry Relationships: Develop relationships with business owners, brokers, investment bankers, and other industry intermediaries within assigned markets.
  • Qualify Investment Opportunities: Assess strategic fit, business fundamentals, and growth profile through direct conversations with business owners.
  • Own Your Pipeline: Maintain accurate CRM records, outreach tracking, follow-up cadence, and detailed call notes across active opportunities.
  • Coordinate Internal Handoff: Organize and present opportunity-related data, call notes, and preliminary business information for investment team review.
  • Build our Brand: Engage directly with founders and intermediaries, building trust while communicating our partnership-oriented approach with professionalism and authenticity.

Qualifications & Personal Attributes

  • Experience in an outreach-driven field such as sales, business development, sourcing, or client development, with a track record of hitting activity or performance targets.
  • Comfortable communicating directly with business owners in a professional, credible, and relationship-oriented manner.
  • Competitive and performance-oriented, with motivation tied to measurable goals and outcomes.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage a structured outreach process across a high volume of concurrent opportunities.
  • Comfortable working with CRM platforms and AI-powered tools for research, outreach, and pipeline management
  • Analytical and data-driven, with the ability to spot patterns across a large volume of conversations and prioritize opportunities based on evidence rather than instinct.
  • Evidence of accountability, initiative, and teamwork through athletics, leadership positions, extracurricular involvement, or other performance-oriented activities.
  • Working proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to build clean presentations and interpret basic financial information.
  • Bachelor's degree with a strong academic record
  • Willingness to work in person in our Austin headquarters.

Career Path

The Business Development Analyst role is structured as a development track. Analysts who consistently hit activity and pipeline targets are positioned for advancement into senior sourcing and business development leadership roles, with growing responsibility, deal ownership, and compensation as you build a track record.

Compensation will include benefits, a competitive base salary, and a deal-based bonus structure in line with our performance-driven culture.
