Las Positas College Student Assistant, Community Education
Under direct supervision of the Community Education Coordinator and the Educational Partnerships Project Manager, the Student Assistant will provide assistance with the daily operations of the Community Education program, which includes, but is not limited to, administrative support and customer service.
Students in this role will primarily work with the Community Education Coordinator.
Primary Duties:
• Maintain basic knowledge of the program and the current course offerings to assist current and prospective students with general questions and provide referrals as needed;
• Provide students with registration support; utilizing Campus CE and Stripe, answering the phone, and responding to student emails;
• Assist with marketing and outreach efforts; distributing of course catalogs, creating and posting flyers, posting on social media platforms, connecting with community partners, and participating in community tabling events;
• Assist with reviewing program data (e.g., enrollment, participation, and course popularity) to identify trends and opportunities;
• Research comparable programs and summarize findings to support program development;
• Assist with reviewing program materials for accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
• Support day-today operations;

Minimum Qualifications:
• time management skills, well-organized;
• Work independently;
• Strong attention to detail;
• Strong computer skills; knowledge of Microsoft Office /Windows;
• Research experience;
• Provide excellent customer service, have good communication skills, and maintain effective interpersonal relationships;
• Follow and give oral and written instructions;
• Work with a diverse population of students while maintaining confidentiality.
Required Education and Experience:
Current student maintaining at least a 2.0 GPA and in good standing.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Experience with Canva and/or graphic design, social media, and outreach/marketing.
• Ability to quickly learn, adapt to, and effectively utilize multiple management software platforms.
• Resourceful and proactive, with the ability to research and resolve questions independently.
• Customer service experience.
Pay: $16.90 per hour
Hours: 10-20 hours per week during hours of operation Location: This job is in person in the Academic Services Office suite, with occasional requests to support off-site tabling events, if available.

Tuesday 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
Wednesday 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
Thursday 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
*potential for Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays for tabling events.
