Environmental & Climate Justice Intern
We are seeking passionate, motivated interns to join our Environmental & Climate Justice Team. Interns will gain hands-on experience in nonprofit advocacy, research, communications, and grassroots organizing. This role is ideal for students interested in environmental studies, public policy, social justice, or community engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with research and data collection on environmental and climate justice issues (air, water, pollution, policy).
- Support community engagement initiatives, including educational forums, workshops, and advocacy campaigns.
- Create and share digital content (social media posts, newsletters, blog articles) to raise awareness.
- Help organize and promote local events and campaigns, including voter education around environmental policy.
- Collaborate with the CBATES team on policy advocacy and community partnership building.
- Support grant research and identify resources for sustainability projects.
Preferred Qualifications
Interest in environmental science, sustainability, public policy, social justice, or related fields.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with social media, Canva, or content creation tools (a plus, but not required).
Commitment to equity, diversity, and community empowerment.
