Community Health Outreach & Marketing Coordinator
Biocentric Health Research Center is seeking an energetic, creative, and community-minded Community Health Outreach & Marketing Coordinator to support our community engagement, study recruitment, and marketing efforts. This is an excellent opportunity for a college student or recent graduate interested in healthcare, public health, marketing, communications, clinical research, or community engagement to gain hands-on professional experience.
Biocentric Health Research Center is an independent clinical research organization in Columbia, SC, dedicated to Moving Medicine Forward through inclusive, community-based clinical research.
What You'll Do
- Represent Biocentric at community events, health fairs, college campuses, and outreach activities.
- Help promote current clinical research studies and community health initiatives.
- Build relationships with community organizations, healthcare practices, colleges, churches, and other local partners.
- Visit physician offices and community organizations to distribute study information and develop referral relationships.
- Assist with planning community events, educational programs, lunch-and-learns, and outreach campaigns.
- Create and schedule engaging content for social media platforms.
- Assist with developing flyers, digital graphics, newsletters, email campaigns, and other marketing materials.
- Help identify creative opportunities to increase awareness of Biocentric and clinical research participation.
- Support participant recruitment campaigns and respond professionally to community inquiries.
- Assist with maintaining and updating website and social media content.
- Track outreach activities, contacts, referrals, and campaign results.
- Provide monthly or quarterly summaries of outreach and marketing activities.
- Maintain assigned projects and deadlines using Asana and other organizational tools.
We're Looking For Someone Who
- Is currently enrolled in college, recently graduated, or has relevant experience in marketing, communications, public health, healthcare, business, or a related field.
- Is outgoing and comfortable speaking with people in both professional and community settings.
- Has strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Is creative and comfortable using social media.
- Has experience with Canva or similar design platforms, or is willing to learn.
- Is organized, dependable, professional, and able to manage multiple assignments.
- Is comfortable working independently while also collaborating with a small team.
- Has reliable transportation for local community outreach and events.
- Is willing to occasionally participate in evening or weekend community events when scheduled.
Position Details
Location: Columbia, South Carolina
Work Format: Hybrid — this is not a fully remote position. The role includes in-office responsibilities, community outreach, and some remote administrative work.
Position Type: Paid temporary/contract opportunity with the potential for continued employment based on performance and organizational needs.
