Intern, Grassroots Organizer, Sustainable Energy

Community for Sustainable Energy is a Fort Collins based grassroots organization dedicated to the practice of democracy in pursuit of a more sustainable society.
We are hiring for entry level internships with our campaign staff to:
- Raise public awareness of Colorado energy concerns
- Reach 100% Renewable Electricity in Fort Collins
- Prevent the construction of new fossil fuel plants in Northern CO
- Get public schools to go solar
- Hold local officials accountable to their sustainability goals
Working with CforSE is like an intensive/immersive 7 hour class. The work day is a 2 hr lecture/study session, followed by a 4.5 hr lab, followed by 30 minute recap. You will learn about sustainable energy policy and practices, local politics, and democratic participation. Through the daily practice of grassroots organizing you will develop interpersonal skills to carry on in your personal life and professional carrier.
We maintain a fun and relaxed staff dynamic, but we are looking for professionally minded co-workers. The work is consistently challenging, never dull! You will need to be on point to be successful. A variety of advancement opportunities exist to: develop social media, plan events, coordinate volunteers, network coalitions, research, and writing. This is an excellent resume builder for a career in advocacy.
Internship credits available for political science, sociology, psychology, HDNR, ESS, and related studies.
Schedule:
2:00-9:00 pm, 3 days/week, Sunday, plus two days Monday - Thursday
