Job Overview

The Missions Intern serves alongside the Missions Director to advance Jersey Church's vision of making disciples and sending people to the nations. This internship provides hands-on ministry experience through planning and leading mission initiatives, building relationships with ministry partners, developing administrative and organizational skills, and growing personally in leadership, evangelism, and discipleship. The intern will gain exposure to every stage of missions ministry—from strategic planning and event preparation to mission execution and follow-up—while being equipped for future ministry opportunities.


 

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Missions Director with daily operations, logistics, and communication.
  • Coordinate local, national, and international mission opportunities and events (CareWeek, Feed the City, VBS, etc.).
  • Manage mission trip details, volunteer coordination, and partner communication.
  • Support the Mission House and assist with missions communications (stories, media, updates).
  • Participate in staff meetings, planning, and leadership development.
  • Engage in hands-on ministry experiences with Stowe Mission, Jersey church plants, and local nonprofit partners.
  • Assist with VBS, outreach events, and summer mission teams in Columbus.
  • Build relationships with pastors, church planters, missionaries, and ministry leaders.
  • Participate in a short-term mission trip as a leader-in-training when available.


 

Qualifications

  • A growing relationship with Jesus Christ and a passion for the Great Commission.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with church staff and volunteers.
  • Interest or experience in local and global missions.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.


 

Expectations

The Missions Intern should demonstrate a servant-hearted attitude, maintain confidentiality, uphold the vision, mission, and doctrinal beliefs of Jersey Church, and serve under the leadership of the Senior Pastor and Missions Director. Occasional evening and weekend ministry participation is expected.
