Outside Sales Representative

SUMMARY

Execute sales plans to exceed both business targets and customer expectations. Understand commercial and industrial insulation systems, products, and accessories and be able to advise customers on products and solutions. Regularly update knowledge of products and the appropriate application of materials in various insulation systems. Manage customer queries and complaints. Individual acts as a strong interface between the customer and the business.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Establish, develop, and maintain business relationships with current customers and prospective customers in the assigned territory/market segment

• Research sources for developing prospective customers and for information to determine their potential

• Identify and qualify new growth opportunities within the region, including opportunities in: new products, new accounts, increased market share, new segments, channels, and geography.

• Execute detailed sales plans and strategies which meet or exceed Company goals for volume, margin, and market share. Doing so will include, but is not limited to, the following:

• Make telephone calls, in-person visits, and presentations to existing and prospective customers to build a pipeline of opportunities to deliver profitability and revenue targets.

• Establish strategies for improving dormant or declining accounts

• Manage assigned customer’s product pricing

• Demonstrates accountability for time management and individual sales plan and results

• Resolve customer complaints, as required

• Keeps current on product knowledge, technical services, market conditions, and competitive activities

• Any other projects assigned by management.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

The company conducts physical inventory counts twice a year on a Saturday, and participation is mandatory for this position. These physical inventory counts are conducted at the end of June and end of December. Employees unable to attend the physical inventory must obtain written approval from their direct supervisor in advance. Additionally, our Annual Sales Meeting which is held offsite on a Saturday and is a key event that Sales team members are expected to attend.

REQUIREMENTS

• A bachelor's degree preferred

• Proven experience as a Sales Representative in the Industrial field preferred

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Strong computer skills a must, with excellent knowledge of MS Office
