Intern Academy Internship
Folio Literary Management is accepting applications for its 12-week Intern Academy, a structured educational program designed to introduce college students to the many aspects of literary representation and book publishing.
Through a combination of supervised work, group instruction, presentations, and discussions with agency professionals, interns will learn about the full range of literary agency work, including manuscript submissions and evaluation, author and project development, contracts, subsidiary rights, international rights, and the publishing process from acquisition through publication.
Each intern will work closely with a participating Folio agent. Because every agent has different clients, specialties, and editorial interests, each agent has outlined below the particular kinds of books, projects, and experience they are seeking from an intern.
NOTE: This is an unpaid internship available only to students who are currently enrolled at an accredited college or university and are eligible to receive academic credit. Selected candidates must obtain all required approval and documentation from their institution before the internship begins. Folio will complete reasonable employer agreements, learning plans, and evaluations required by the student’s school.
The program runs for 12 weeks, with an expected commitment of approximately 15-20 hours per week. Interns will receive ongoing supervision, educational feedback, and opportunities to learn from agents and other members of the Folio team.
Applicants should review the individual agent descriptions below and apply to the opportunity that most closely matches their interests and experience. Applicants may apply to more than one agent, but should submit a separate, tailored application for each position.
Applicants do not need to provide their university paperwork at the initial application stage, but all required institutional approvals must be completed before the internship begins.
