Perry Health & Rehab is seeking a dependable and caring Food & Nutrition Services (FNS) Aide to join our team! This position plays an important role in providing a positive dining experience for our residents by assisting with meal preparation and service while maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen environment.

What You'll Do
As an FNS Aide, your responsibilities will include:
- Assist with the preparation and service of meals and snacks according to planned menus, resident diets, recipes, and portion guidelines.
- Assist with meal tray preparation and ensure trays are accurate based on resident diets, preferences, and orders.
- Participate in the food service line to help ensure meals are prepared and served on time.
- Assist with preparing substitute food items when necessary.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen work areas, equipment, dishes, utensils, and floors.
- Properly store food, supplies, and equipment according to established procedures.
- Assist with receiving, inventorying, and storing incoming food and supplies.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, infection control, and workplace safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Communicate and work cooperatively with residents, families, coworkers, and other members of the facility team.
- Treat residents with kindness, dignity, and respect while maintaining resident confidentiality.
- Complete required training and education.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the FNS Director/Supervisor or Cook.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a high school program OR possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous food service or long-term care experience is preferred but not required.
- Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation is preferred.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Dependable, organized, and attentive to detail.
- Ability to work cooperatively as part of a team.
- Must be able to work scheduled hours based on the needs of the position.
- Must demonstrate a caring, respectful, and professional attitude when interacting with residents.
Physical Requirements
This position requires frequent standing and walking throughout the shift, as well as bending, reaching, kneeling, and other physical activity associated with food service. Employees must be able to safely lift and carry supplies, equipment, and meal trays and push or pull food service carts as required to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
