General Manager - Olive Branch, MS (Relocation Assistance)
Summary:
The General Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, financial performance, operational execution, customer satisfaction, and organizational culture of Millstone’s Olive Branch, Mississippi facility.
The General Manager has full site leadership responsibility for an operation of approximately 200 employees and is accountable for achieving the facility’s financial, operational, quality, customer, and people objectives. The Olive Branch facility operates in a fast-paced, high volume medical device distribution and service environment.
This position requires a highly visible, hands-on leader who can balance the demands of customers, employees, quality, service, cost, and profitability. The General Manager is expected to build a positive, accountable, and performance-driven culture while developing a strong leadership team capable of supporting continued growth.
The General Manager will have extensive interaction with Millstone’s customers, including small and mid-sized medical device OEMs, and must develop trusted customer relationships while ensuring Millstone consistently delivers on its commitments.
Responsibilities:
- Assume overall responsibility for the financial performance of the Olive Branch facility, including P&L management, budgeting, forecasting, labor management, cost control, and achievement of revenue and profitability objectives.
- Direct and coordinate activities consistent with MMO goals, objectives, and policies.
- Develop strategies and policies aligned with organizational goals.
- Provide overall leadership and direction for all operational activities within the Olive Branch facility.
- Lead a fast-paced, high-volume operation that requires consistent execution, responsiveness, and the ability to successfully manage changing customer priorities and significant daily order volume.
- Ensure customer orders and operational commitments are completed safely, accurately, efficiently, and on schedule.
- Establish appropriate staffing, workflow, capacity, and resource plans to meet changing business and customer requirements.
- Maintain a highly visible presence throughout the facility and develop strong working relationships with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Build, coach, train, and develop an effective site leadership team with clear expectations and accountability for performance.
- Develop leadership capability and succession plans to support the continued growth of the facility.
- Partner closely with Human Resources to proactively address employee relations, performance, retention, staffing, and organizational development needs.
- Communicate well with customers and develop client relationships.
- Maintain a working knowledge of all Millstone services and quality processes.
- Develop and maintain strong, trusted relationships with Millstone customers. Ensure customer concerns and service issues receive timely leadership attention and effective resolution.
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong P&L and financial management capability.
- Proven leadership of complex operation with significant employee headcount.
- Experience leading high-volume distribution, fulfillment, manufacturing operations.
- Ability to lead effectively in a high-pressure, rapidly changing environment. Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and competing customer demands. Strong coaching, mentoring, and leadership-development capabilities.
- Knowledge and execution of issues related to FDA/GMP compliance.
- Advanced skills with metrics, excel, PowerPoint and word documents.
- Experience with ERP software.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, operations, supply chain required; master’s degree preferred.
- Requires 10+ years of prior Operations experience in a medical device, life sciences, FDA-regulated, or other highly regulated industry.
- Experience leading high-volume, multi-shift distribution or fulfillment operations.
- General Manager or senior site leadership experience leading a large manufacturing, distribution, fulfillment, medical device, or similarly complex operation.
- Demonstrated P&L, budgeting, forecasting, and cost-management experience.
- Demonstrated experience leading and developing managers, supervisors, and large hourly workforce.
- Demonstrated experience successfully leading an organizational or cultural transformation.
- Experience working directly with customers and managing senior-level customer relationships.
- Strong proficiency with operational metrics, ERP systems, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and related business systems.
