Hodori Afterschool Program at East-West School of International Studies (46-21 Colden St. Flushing, NY 11355) is one of the Korean-American Family Service Center, Inc. major programs serving children, aged 11 to 13 (6th to 8th grades) who are from low-income diverse family backgrounds. The core goal is to provide academic, social, emotional, and psychological support in a culturally and linguistically appropriate setting, while comprehensively supporting their parents and families. The program will be operating from 2:15 P.M. to 5:30 P.M. Mondays through Thursdays and 2:15 P.M. to 4:30 P.M. on Fridays.
Under the direction of the Program Site Director and Education Specialist, each teacher will manage a class of 20-24 middle school students; supervise students and implement appropriate curriculum on a daily basis. This position will work independently by following our standard practice and procedures to lead engaging academic, emotional and social enrichment activities.
Major Responsibilities:
- Have abilities to develop and implement lessons and activity plans
- Implement discipline techniques and class management
- Assist and check student homework completion and lead organized activities
- Review and provide feedback on program schedule/plans with the program site director and/or education specialist for effective program implementation
- Report any incidents to the program site director and/or education specialist
- Interact professionally and appropriately with other staff members and
parents/legal guardians - Correspond to any inquiries from parents
- Participate in the staff orientation, staff meetings and professional development trainings
- Complete all required documentation professionally and submit them to the program site director/education specialist on a timely basis
- Participate in weekly curriculum supervision and staff meeting with the education specialist and program site director
- Perform related duties as assigned by the program site director, education
specialist and senior programs director
Work Hours: 2:15 P.M. to 5:45 P.M. (Monday-Thursday) & 2:15 P.M. to 4:15 P.M.(Friday) + weekly staff meeting on Fridays

Qualifications:
- B.A, Associate degree or currently in college
- Comfortable interacting and communicating with children and parents
- Bilingual in English and Chinese preferred
- Experience working with children preferred
- Length of commitment: September 2026 - June 2027
- Possibility of extending contract to August 2027
