Overview:
This internship is for a project which is about our founder of ULimo, John Snee, and his potential mayoral candidacy for the city of New York.
The Public Administration Internship [Project: John Snee NYC Mayoral Candidacy] provides students with the opportunity to gain practical experience related to government management, public-sector leadership, government programs, and issues affecting New York City. Interns will support research and project activities while gaining exposure to how local government agencies, public institutions, and administrative systems operate.
This internship is designed for students interested in political science, public administration, government, public service, and public-sector management. Interns will have opportunities to apply concepts from their coursework to a real-world political project while developing research, organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
Research New York City government agencies, departments, programs, and administrative structures.
Examine how local government programs and public services are organized and managed.
Research public administration and government management issues relevant to New York City.
Review publicly available government reports, agency information, policy documents, and administrative materials.
Monitor and summarize developments involving New York City government agencies and public services.
Assist with preparing research summaries, briefing materials, reports, and other project documents.
Research government operations, public-sector leadership, and administrative processes.
Help organize information related to government programs, agencies, services, and community needs.
Support research into ways local government administration affects New York City residents.
Collaborate with project leadership and other interns on public administration and government-related initiatives.
Qualifications:
Currently pursuing or recently completed coursework or a degree in Political Science, Public Administration, or a closely related field.
Interest in government management, public service, local government, and public administration.
Strong research, analytical, written communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to evaluate information from multiple sources and summarize findings clearly.
Familiarity with government agencies, public programs, or administrative processes is a plus.
Experience with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, research databases, or similar tools is a plus.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively on research and project assignments.
Interest in New York City government operations and public-sector issues is a plus.
