Student Marketing Assistant - Multimedia

Job Title: Student Marketing Assistant – Multimedia – Part Time

General: The position of Student Marketing Assistant – Multimedia is primarily responsible for assisting the College of Business (CoB) in capturing and producing high-quality photography and video content to promote the college, its academic programming, students, faculty, alumni, events, and other initiatives. This position reports to the Director of Marketing & Digital Content. You must be a student at The University of Akron. Marketing, communications, photography, media, film, or related majors preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities:

• Capture photo and video content for use across College of Business digital, social media, web, print, and promotional channels.

• Attend and document classes, events, student activities, faculty and alumni stories, and other College of Business initiatives.

• Edit photography and video content for social media, web, digital signage, presentations, and other marketing materials.

• Assist with organizing, cataloging, and maintaining the College of Business photo and video library.

Skill Requirements:

• Experience with photography and/or videography, including composition, lighting, framing, and visual storytelling.

• Proficiency with photo and video editing software such as Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, After Effects, or similar programs.

• Ability to operate cameras and other photo/video equipment or a willingness to learn.

• Understanding of social media platforms and current digital content trends.

• Creative thinker with strong attention to detail and an ability to tell stories visually.

• “People person” who is comfortable approaching and interacting with students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community partners.

• Strong organizational and time management skills are critical – must adhere to deadlines, multi-task, and be able to prioritize.

• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

• Ability to learn quickly and manage workload in a cooperative and demanding environment.

The CoB is looking for someone that can work 10-15 hours per week, depending on the project demands.

The pay is $14/hr.
