Amalgamated Bank, America’s socially responsible bank, seeks to hire an intern to work in our Commercial Banking office in Boston, MA. The intern will work under the supervision of the Senior Account Executive for Boston (“the SAE”) to provide client and support within the Commercial Banking division.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Under the training and guidance of the SAE, provide and implement flawless account opening and transition services to new Commercial Banking clients as they transition from their current bank to Amalgamated Bank including account opening, cash management service enrollment, and online banking training.
  2. Under the training and guidance of the SAE, develop the skills and expertise necessary to become the day-to-day relationship manager for assigned clients.
  3. Under the training and guidance of the SAE. observe and eventually participate in sales process, onboarding, and technical training fof new Commercial Banking clients, offering sales support, product expertise, product demonstrations and pro forma analyses.
  4. Serve as secondary point of contact (SAE is primary) for assigned clients; liaising with other divisions of the Bank to resolve client issues.
  5. Maintain accurate client records through a central repository of shared drives or databases.
  6. Review and make decisions of daily overdraft and other account reports; escalate issues to the SAE and senior management as appropriate.
  7. Maintain compliance with all bank policies, procedures and regulations.
  8. Keep the SAE and the respective Commercial Bankers apprised of any client issues, requests and opportunities for growth.
  9. Demonstrate a superior level of product acumen and attention to detail.
  10. Ability to work independently and effectively manage multiple priorities.
  11. Ability to respond to internal and external clients in a timely fashion.
  12. Perform other duties as directed.



 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Requirements:

  1. Be enrolled in an accredited educational program that will lead towards an Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience.  Study in the area of finance or banking is preferred. 
  2. Two to three years of experience in client facing roles 
  3. Ability to accurately read, understand,  and audit financial statements 
  4. Ability to work and adapt to a fast paced, evolving work environment 
  5. Robust knowledge of Microsoft Office software package (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  6. Working knowledge of Salesforce
  7. Exceptional verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills
  8. Strong attention to detail and accuracy
