About the role

We are seeking experienced English-speaking Professional Communication Coaches with strong firsthand knowledge of American workplace culture, communication styles, and professional expectations.

You will primarily work with graduate-level international university students currently studying in the United States, helping them strengthen the communication and professional skills needed to navigate American academic and workplace environments successfully.

As part of MeeOpp's Communications Coach (CC) team, you will deliver weekly 25-minute, one-on-one online sessions covering topics such as job interviews, networking, workplace communication, professional etiquette, career development, and life in the US.

The rate is USD $25 per hour, with payments made through PayPal or Wise.

Key responsibilities include: 

• Deliver engaging and effective one-on-one communication coaching sessions using MeeOpp's online platform, curriculum, and learning materials.
• Help international students develop the communication skills needed to succeed in US academic and professional environments.
• Coach students on topics including interviews, networking, professional communication, workplace expectations, and American professional culture.
• Provide constructive, actionable feedback on students' spoken English, communication style, and professional interactions.
• Help students communicate clearly and naturally in professional settings.
• Create a comfortable and supportive environment where students can practice, ask questions, and build confidence.

Requirements: 

• Excellent spoken English proficiency with clear, natural pronunciation suitable for coaching students in US academic and professional settings.
• Strong firsthand knowledge of contemporary American workplace culture, professional communication, and workplace expectations.
• Professional experience working in US-based organizations or US professional environments.
• Strong understanding of American professional norms, including interviews, networking, workplace communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to provide practical coaching to graduate-level international students preparing to enter or currently navigating the US workforce.
• Ability to accommodate sessions during US Eastern Time (ET).
• Reliable internet connection and a quiet, professional environment for online sessions.

Ideal candidate:

• Substantial professional or educational experience in the United States.
• Experience mentoring, coaching, teaching, or working with university students or early-career professionals.
• Experience teaching English in a one-on-one or small-group environment.
• Familiarity with Socratic questioning and discussion-based learning.
• A bachelor's degree in English, education, humanities, communications, or a related field.
• TEFL, TESOL, TESL, CELTA, DELTA, or another relevant teaching qualification.
• Experience using online teaching platforms and digital learning tools.
• An interest in technology, education, and AI-enabled learning.

• Familiar with how communication works in real-world American professional environments.
• Patient, friendly, and resourceful.
• Comfortable providing direct and constructive feedback.
• Able to adapt their coaching approach to students with different backgrounds, communication abilities, and professional goals.
