🎨 Turn Ideas Into Design
We’re looking for an enthusiastic Graphic Design Instructor to introduce high school students to the fundamentals of visual design through creative, hands-on projects.
You’ll guide students as they explore concepts such as composition, typography, color, layout, branding, and visual communication. Students will have opportunities to create their own designs while learning how to turn ideas into visuals that communicate a message.
You don't need to be a professional designer or experienced classroom teacher. If you have experience with graphic design, digital art, or visual communication and enjoy helping young people develop their creativity, you may be a great fit.
Curriculum guidance and instructional materials are provided, giving you a structured foundation while leaving room for your own creativity and teaching style.
🎯 What You'll Do
- Lead engaging, hands-on graphic design sessions
- Introduce students to fundamental design principles and visual communication
- Teach concepts such as typography, color, composition, layout, and branding
- Guide students through creative design projects and challenges
- Demonstrate design techniques and digital tools clearly
- Help students turn ideas into polished visual concepts
- Encourage creativity, experimentation, and individual expression
- Provide feedback that helps students improve their designs
- Help students develop problem-solving and creative-thinking skills
- Adapt instruction to different skill levels and learning styles
- Create a supportive, inclusive, and collaborative classroom environment
- Celebrate student progress and completed projects
- Communicate professionally with program coordinators and school staff

🌟 What We're Looking For
You don't need to be a professional designer or traditional teacher. We're looking for someone who can make graphic design approachable, creative, and exciting for high school students.
You may be a great fit if you have:
- Experience with graphic design, digital art, illustration, or visual communication
- Familiarity with design software such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, Figma, or similar tools
- An understanding of basic design principles
- The ability to explain creative and technical concepts clearly
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Creativity, patience, and an encouraging personality
- Comfort leading and engaging groups of students
- A willingness to follow provided curriculum while bringing your own ideas
- Reliability, professionalism, and a positive attitude
Teaching experience is a plus, but not required. Experience in graphic design, illustration, branding, marketing, digital media, photography, art, tutoring, mentoring, camps, or youth programs is helpful.
Graphic designers, digital artists, illustrators, design students, marketing professionals, college students, recent graduates, aspiring educators, and creative professionals are all encouraged to apply.
