About BEST Skills Academy

BEST Skills Academy is a small, mentoring-centered educational program dedicated to helping students grow academically, personally, and socially. We provide students with a structured, supportive learning environment where teachers can build meaningful relationships with students and provide individualized instruction.

We are seeking a passionate and dependable Part-Time Science Teacher who enjoys working with middle school students and believes that every student can learn and succeed when given the right support.

Position Overview

The Part-Time Science Teacher will provide engaging, standards-aligned science instruction to middle school students in a small-classroom setting. The ideal candidate will be able to make science understandable, relevant, and engaging while building positive relationships with students.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher, retired teacher, current educator, or qualified professional who wants to make a meaningful difference while working a part-time schedule.

Responsibilities

• Teach science to middle school students in a small-classroom environment
• Develop and deliver engaging, hands-on and age-appropriate science lessons
• Provide individualized support based on student needs and learning levels
• Maintain a positive, structured, and encouraging classroom environment
• Monitor student progress and communicate concerns or successes with school leadership
• Collaborate with other BEST Skills Academy teachers and staff
• Encourage students to develop confidence, responsibility, and strong study habits
• Incorporate real-world applications of science whenever possible
• Maintain appropriate classroom records and student grades
• Support the overall mission and mentoring-centered culture of BEST Skills Academy

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in education, science, or a related field
• Experience working with middle school students
• Strong communication and classroom management skills
• Dependable, professional, and organized
• Ability to build positive relationships with students
• Commitment to helping students who benefit from individualized attention and a smaller learning environment

Preferred:

• Valid teaching certification
• Middle school science teaching experience
• Experience working with students with different learning needs
• Experience using online learning platforms
• Experience creating hands-on or project-based science activities

Schedule

Part-time: Approximately 20-25 hours per week

The specific teaching schedule will be determined based on the school's needs and the teacher's availability.
