I.R.D.I. Business Group® LLC (irdiworld.com) is a global commerce and economic development firm founded in California in 2003, developing real-world strategies across international trade, market development, business intelligence, and cross-border partnerships.

Committed to American industry and long-term economic competitiveness, we help U.S. enterprises strengthen their domestic position, access global markets, and create economic opportunity across the States of our Union and the Nation.

In 2007, the firm received formal recognition for supporting California's boutique wine industry during a period of economic disruption. Since then, our engagement has expanded across national and international markets.

Students gain direct exposure to industry projects aligned with their academic disciplines and career goals, contributing to applied research, strategy development, data analysis, professional communications, and project execution while building practical experience in a real-world business environment.

As an American organization, we strongly support U.S. military personnel and veterans pursuing higher education and professional development, recognizing the experience, discipline, and leadership they bring to industry and the workforce.

Graphic Design Internship Overview

Your creative ability may get you into the room. Understanding the world in which business operates can determine where you sit at the table.

At I.R.D.I. Business Group® LLC, our Graphic Design Internship connects emerging designers with international commerce, economic development, American industry, and firsthand global experience. The firm's President lived for more than 10 years in Japan, gaining direct exposure to one of the world's major economies while supporting California's leading industries and their engagement in international markets. That experience is brought directly into the internship, giving interns a perspective that extends beyond the classroom.

Graphic Design Interns gain insight into global design trends, international perspectives, cross-cultural communication, and the evolving technologies, creative movements, and professional practices shaping the global graphic design industry. Interns learn how visual communication changes across audiences, cultures, industries, and markets—and how those differences influence professional communication around the world.

Interns contribute to active business and communications initiatives, developing digital graphics, marketing materials, brand communications, social media content, presentations, web-based creative assets, and other materials for professional, industry, and international audiences. They are encouraged to bring their own creative perspective while learning how effective design responds to audience, purpose, culture, industry, and business objectives.

This is where academic knowledge becomes professional capability. Approved, non-confidential work may be incorporated into an intern's professional portfolio, providing tangible evidence of practical ability while developing the judgment and professional fluency that come from working in a real business environment.

Our global perspective ultimately serves a distinctly American purpose: supporting American industries while preparing emerging professionals to understand the international environment in which those industries compete. Interns benefit from the global insight developed through more than a decade of firsthand experience overseas while broadening their own understanding of markets, cultures, industries, and professional expectations.

Creative talent can open doors. Creative talent strengthened by multinational experience, global awareness, and business understanding can position you to lead once those doors open. Our objective is to develop the global insight, practical experience, and professional perspective that can prepare interns not merely to take a seat at the table, but to earn their place at the head of it.

Interns who successfully complete the Skills Confirmation Process will receive a Letter of Recommendation from the President of I.R.D.I. Business Group® LLC at the conclusion of the Fall 2026 semester, documenting demonstrated skills and proficiency.

Academic Credit: Because college credit-eligible internship placements are limited, priority consideration is given to interns who have participated with I.R.D.I. Business Group® LLC for at least three months and are enrolled for the Fall 2026 semester. Proof of enrollment is required for consideration.

If you are ready to move beyond learning design and discover how your creative abilities can operate across industries, cultures, and international markets, bring your vision to a global table.
