Turn Imagination Into Art!
Do you love getting creative with your hands? Whizara is looking for an enthusiastic Air-Dry Clay Sculpting Instructor to lead a fun, hands-on after-school program for students in Grades 6–12.
Students will explore the creative possibilities of air-dry clay while learning sculpting techniques, experimenting with different forms and textures, and bringing their own ideas to life. If you enjoy art and love encouraging young creators, this is a great opportunity to share your passion!
What You'll Teach
Students will explore:
- Basic air-dry clay sculpting techniques and tools
- Hand-building, shaping, molding, and texturing
- Creating figures, objects, decorations, and original sculptures
- Different techniques for adding details, patterns, and textures
- Creative design and artistic expression
- Planning and developing original projects
- Finishing, decorating, and presenting completed pieces
- Creativity, patience, problem-solving, and confidence through hands-on art
What You'll Do
- Lead engaging, hands-on clay sculpting classes for K-12 students
- Teach sculpting basics using the provided curriculum and lesson plans
- Create a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
- Encourage students to think critically and make informed decisions
- Adapt instruction to different ages, abilities, and learning styles
- Facilitate hands-on activities, discussions, and real-life simulations
- Keep students motivated and actively participating
- Maintain online classroom organization and positive behavior management
- Communicate professionally with staff, parents, and program coordinators
- Arrive prepared and ready to deliver an exceptional online learning experience
What We're Looking For
- Enthusiastic, creative, and dependable individuals
- Passion for sculpting, ceramics, visual arts, crafts, or creative education
- Comfortable working with elementary and middle school students
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- Patient, encouraging, and adaptable teaching style
- Ability to demonstrate and explain creative techniques clearly through online learning platform
- Comfortable following a structured curriculum and lesson plans
- Prior teaching, tutoring, mentoring, camp, or classroom experience is a plus—but not required
- Art portfolio or examples of creative work are a plus
