STEM Instructor — After-School Programs
Summit Innovation Lab | Boise, ID

About Us
Summit Innovation Lab (SIL) is a locally owned, hands-on STEM education studio serving K–9th grade students in Boise through after-school classes, camps, birthday parties, and school partnerships. We're not a franchise — every class we run is designed in-house, and our instructors are the heart of the
experience we give kids.

The Role
We're looking for a part-time After-School Instructor to lead engaging, hands-on STEM classes for students in grades K–9. You'll run small-group sessions in areas like coding, robotics, 3D printing/design, drones, and hands-on engineering challenges — following SIL's prepared curriculum while bringing your own energy and classroom management to the room.

Schedule: Part-time, hourly. Weekday afternoons during the school year, typically one or more 60-minute sessions per day at partner school sites or our Boise studio. We're also looking for instructors available to work our day-off school camps — full-day camps held when schools are closed
(holidays, in-service days, breaks, etc.).

What You'll Do
• Lead after-school STEM classes for small groups of K–9 students using SIL's lesson plans and
materials
• Work day-off school camps when schools are closed for holidays, breaks, or in-service days
• Set up, break down, and manage classroom materials/kits for each session
• Keep sessions safe, positive, and age-appropriate — manage behavior and group dynamics with
patience
• Track student progress and communicate with parents/families as needed
• Report any incidents or concerns to SIL leadership promptly
• Help pack up and prep kits between sessions
What We're Looking For
• Experience working with K–9th grade kids (teaching, coaching, camp counseling, childcare, tutoring,
etc.)
• Availability to work when schools are closed for day-off camps, in addition to regular after-school
hours
• Comfort with hands-on tech: basic coding platforms (Scratch, Tinkercad), robotics kits, or
willingness to learn quickly
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Reliable, punctual, and able to commit to a recurring weekly schedule
• Must pass a background check
• Bonus: background in education, STEM fields, engineering, or computer science

Compensation
Competitive pay, based on experience.
