Accounting Intern
Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting Intern to support our finance team year-round. Our team values curiosity, humility, accountability, and continuous learning. This part-time role offers hands-on experience in core accounting functions and financial operations. The intern will work closely with Accounting Team members to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and transaction processing.
This position is open only to candidates actively pursuing a degree in Accounting.
15 - 20 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
Under the Accounting Team’s oversight, the intern will assist with:
Daily Banking Activities:
- Record daily bank activity for multiple business entities
Monthly Financial Processes:
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for multiple bank accounts
- Calculate monthly commissions
- Issue customer invoices
- Assist with month-end closing activities
System Support for Mexico Operations:
- Enter accounts payable (AP) invoices
- Manage customer portal requirements
- Record deposits and banking activity
- Input and update exchange rates in ERP
Reporting:
- Prepare weekly financial reports including cash flow projections
- Aid in the preparation of the monthly finance meeting reports
Special Projects:
- Provide support with monthly covenants and required calculations for financial institutions
- Assist with annual budget preparation and presentation
- Other projects as they develop
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Professional business presence and acumen
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, Excel, Outlook
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial data
- Familiarity with accounting software is a plus
