This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys building things, working with their hands, solving problems, and learning new technical skills. You’ll work across multiple areas of production, including fiber optics, mechanical and electrical assembly, fabrication, soldering, prototyping, and 3D printing.

You do not need to be an expert in every area. We are looking for someone with strong mechanical aptitude, precision, curiosity, and a willingness to learn and cross-train.

What You’ll Do

  • Prepare, cut, route, bond, polish, and inspect fiber optic components
  • Assemble mechanical and electrical components and subassemblies
  • Use hand tools, power tools, microscopes, meters, fixtures, and other production equipment
  • Perform basic soldering and electronics assembly
  • Assist with 3D printing, prototype builds, jigs, fixtures, and fabrication projects
  • Read and follow work instructions, diagrams, specifications, and production documentation
  • Inspect your work and identify potential quality issues before products move to the next production stage
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace
  • Work alongside production, quality, and engineering teams
  • Cross-train in different production areas based on your skills, interests, and business needs

What We’re Looking For

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
  • Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Interest in learning multiple technical and manufacturing skills
  • Experience in fiber optics, electronics, manufacturing, assembly, fabrication, cable or wire work is helpful, but we encourage candidates with other relevant hands-on experience to apply.
  • Hands-on projects count. Experience may come from school, labs, internships, hobbies, maker projects, robotics, automotive work, electronics, woodworking, 3D printing, home projects, or other technical activities.

Even Better If You Have Experience With

  • Fiber optics or precision assembly
  • Electronics or soldering
  • 3D printing or prototyping
  • Mechanical fabrication
  • Wire, cable, or light assembly
  • Quality inspection
  • ISO 9001 manufacturing environments
  • Building, repairing, modifying, or troubleshooting mechanical or electrical projects

Physical & Work Environment

This role works in a manufacturing/production environment and includes periods of sitting, standing, walking, and detailed bench assembly work. Team members frequently use their hands for precision assembly and tool operation and may lift up to 35 pounds as needed.

Grow With Us

This position is part of TechniQuip’s cross-trained technician career path. As you gain experience and become qualified in additional production areas, there are opportunities to progress into Senior, Lead, and Master-level technician roles.

We’re especially interested in candidates who enjoy being makers, builders, problem-solvers, and lifelong learners.
