Advantest Test Solutions, Inc. (ATS) is a global leader in massively parallel electronic test systems, supporting advanced semiconductor, module, SLT, and burn-in testing. We are seeking a motivated Thermal Engineering Intern to join our engineering team in Lake Forest, CA. This role offers hands-on exposure to thermal system testing, validation, and documentation in support of leading-edge semiconductor technologies, while working alongside and supporting our Thermal Engineering (TE) team.

Key Responsibilities:

Test Support & Data

• Prepare test setups to assist Engineers with thermal validation needs
• Capture test data, compile results, and present findings to the team

Documentation & Technical Support

• Document specific engineering procedures
• Provide technical support to engineers, as needed

Troubleshooting & Research

• Perform basic troubleshooting and analysis
• Research new thermal approaches

Required Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, Physics, or a related field
• Completed coursework in thermodynamics, heat transfer, or fluid mechanics
• Basic understanding of conduction and convection-based thermal systems
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable with hands-on lab work and basic test equipment
• Must be able to work on-site in Lake Forest, CA

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with 3D CAD tools, especially SolidWorks
• Exposure to thermal simulation tools (e.g., SolidWorks Flow Simulation, Ansys Icepak)
• Interest in semiconductor capital equipment or electronic packaging
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and/or basic data analysis tools
• Prior lab, project, or internship experience in a technical setting
