The Performing, Endurance, and Artistic Athlete Clinic (The PEAAC) is a woman-owned, holistic sports medicine clinic and wellness center seeking a compassionate, reliable Medical Assistant to join our growing team.
The PEAAC provides specialized care for dancers, gymnasts, figure skaters, musicians, and other performing artist-athletes; patients with hypermobility concerns; and patients receiving disordered eating care. We are committed to a respectful, inclusive, and safe environment for every patient and team member.
This part-time role is an excellent opportunity for a medical student or someone interested in sports medicine, performing arts medicine, and patient-centered outpatient care.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare patient rooms, equipment, and visit-related paperwork.
- Check patients in and out while creating a welcoming, professional experience.
- Assist physician providers and support efficient clinic flow.
- Help with patient documentation, requests, and administrative follow-up.
- Maintain clean, organized, professionally prepared clinical spaces.
- Protect patient privacy and follow HIPAA requirements.
- Support clinic processes and help ensure each patient feels respected, safe, and cared for.
What We’re Looking For
- At least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED.
- At least 1 year of hospitality, customer service, or call center experience.
- Strong communication, listening, observation, and organizational skills.
- A calm, adaptable, and professional approach in a busy environment.
- Comfort learning electronic medical records, basic medical equipment, and new technology.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Google applications.
- Reliability, punctuality, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
- Willingness to complete CPR training and SafeSport Certification; training support is provided.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a medical office or as a Medical Assistant.
- Medical Assistant certification; training may be available for the right candidate.
- Familiarity with trauma-informed care.
- Interest in or understanding of the demands faced by athletes, performers, musicians, and other high-performing individuals.
Schedule and Compensation
- Part-time: target of 10–20 hours per week.
- Primary availability: Mondays and Wednesdays; occasional Sunday afternoon shifts.
- Actual shifts and hours will vary based on patient volume and the clinic schedule.
- Training begins in August/September and typically includes 1–2 weeks, based on experience.
- Additional Tuesday and Thursday shifts may become available as the clinic grows.
- Pay: $18.00–$20.00 per hour, depending on experience.
Employment is contingent on completion of a background check.
