HR Intern

About the Role

As an intern on the HR team, you’ll play an active role in supporting how HD Supply attracts, develops, and supports the people who make our business successful. HD Supply serves a broad range of professional customers our associates are critical to delivering the service and solutions our customers rely on every day.

In this role, you’ll collaborate with HR team members across functions such as talent acquisition, employee relations, and HR Total Value. You’ll help support core HR processes, contribute to people-focused initiatives, and gain insight into how HR partners with the business to foster a strong workplace culture.

This internship offers hands-on experience in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where you’ll build foundational HR skills, sharpen your professional communication, and gain exposure to how a large organization manages its people programs and employee lifecycle.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with day-to-day HR operations and administrative processes
  • Support recruiting and onboarding activities
  • Participate in associate engagement, learning, and HR initiatives
  • Assist with research on HR best practices, policies, and industry trends
  • Help prepare presentations, communications, and reports for HR programs
  • Support HR projects related to performance management, business operations, or talent development
  • Participate in HR team meetings and brainstorming sessions
  • Compile HR metrics and summarize insights for the HR team
  • Engage professionally with associates and stakeholders to support a positive associate experience

 

Required Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration or a related field.
  • Expected graduation date between December 2027 and May 2028
  • Hands-on experience with administrative support, academic projects, or internship/part-time work in a professional setting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data management skills
  • Ability to work with multiple teams, confidential information, and HR processes in a professional environment
  • Coursework in Human Resources Management, Organizational Behavior, Business Communications, or Employment Law

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with HR systems, applicant tracking systems (ATS), or associate databases/dashboards
  • Exposure to recruiting, onboarding, associate engagement, or HR operations through coursework, student organizations, or prior roles
  • Coursework in Talent Management, Compensation & Benefits, or Labor Relations
