Freelance Quality Evaluator for Captions/Subtitles
IMPORTANT NOTE: This role is strictly for Deaf & Hard of Hearing (HOH) applicants.
Job Overview:
Evaluate Subtitle for Deaf and Hard of Hearing (SDH) quality for end-customer viewing experience by reviewing video clips against provided SDH files.
We are looking for multiple candidates with native-level proficiency in the following languages:
Latin American Spanish
Castilian Spanish
French
German
Italian
Brazilian Portuguese
Key Responsibilities:
-Watch title video clips of 30 minutes or less duration using provided timestamp ranges.
-Listen to video audio and compare it against SDH content, ensuring accurate dialogue and Non-Speech Information (NSI) such as sound effects and speaker labels.
-Assign overall SDH quality ratings on a 1 to 5 scale based on defined guidelines.
-Identify and classify defects into accuracy, localization, linguistic, style, technical, and SDH-related categories.
-Record 1–2 representative examples for each observed issue and provide summary feedback on the overall viewing experience.
Key Qualifications:
-All experience levels are welcome to apply (we will train).
-Ability to carefully review audio against text and NSI descriptors.
-Attention to detail in spotting errors in accuracy, grammar, timing, positioning, and formatting.
