Fundraising Grants Intern
Together for You, Inc. (TFY) is a Maryland-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering youth, young adults, and families through Mentorship & Leadership, Mental Health & Well-Being, Career Readiness, Family Support, and Digital Education & AI Literacy.
Together for You, Inc. is seeking a motivated, organized, and research-oriented Fundraising, Grants & Development Intern for Fall 2026.
This internship is ideal for a student interested in nonprofit management, fundraising, grant writing, philanthropy, public administration, business development, communications, community development, or social impact.
The intern will work with TFY leadership to help identify funding opportunities, strengthen donor and sponsor engagement, support grant development, organize fundraising information, and contribute to the long-term sustainability of the organization.
This position provides hands-on exposure to nonprofit development and is designed to help interns understand how mission-driven organizations build the financial resources necessary to expand programs and serve communities.
Expected Responsibilities
Research foundation, corporate, government, and community grant opportunities that align with TFY's mission and programs.
Identify prospective funders that support youth development, mentorship, mental health and well-being, career readiness, family support, education, digital literacy, artificial intelligence education, and community development.
Maintain and update grant opportunity trackers, funding calendars, and application deadlines.
Review grant guidelines and summarize eligibility requirements, priorities, deadlines, award amounts, and application requirements.
Assist with drafting grant proposals, letters of inquiry, concept papers, narratives, and supporting materials.
Help prepare organizational descriptions, program summaries, statements of need, goals, objectives, and anticipated outcomes for proposals.
Assist with gathering information needed for grant applications and funder reports.
Help organize commonly requested grant materials such as organizational documents, budgets, program descriptions, leadership information, and impact data.
Research prospective individual donors, corporate partners, sponsors, and philanthropic organizations.
Assist with developing corporate sponsorship opportunities and sponsorship packages.
Help identify businesses and organizations that may be interested in sponsoring TFY programs, events, workshops, or special initiatives.
Support fundraising campaigns, donor outreach, giving initiatives, and special fundraising events.
Assist with drafting donor communications, sponsorship letters, thank-you messages, fundraising appeals, and stewardship materials.
Help maintain organized donor, sponsor, and funder records.
Assist with tracking donor engagement, sponsorship outreach, grant submissions, and funding decisions.
Support the development of donor and sponsor prospect lists.
Research workplace giving, matching gift programs, corporate social responsibility initiatives, and employee engagement opportunities.
Assist with identifying in-kind donation opportunities and community resources.
Help develop fundraising materials that clearly communicate TFY's mission, programs, needs, and impact.
Collaborate with TFY's communications and multimedia interns to develop stories, photographs, videos, and program highlights that may support fundraising efforts.
Assist with preparing impact information and program accomplishments for funders, donors, sponsors, and community stakeholders.
Research fundraising trends and effective nonprofit development practices.
Participate in fundraising strategy discussions, team meetings, supervision, and professional-development activities.
Complete additional development-related projects based on organizational priorities.

Applicants do not need prior experience with all of these tools.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants should:
Be currently enrolled in a college, university, community college, graduate program, certificate program, or comparable educational/training program; recent graduates may also be considered.
Demonstrate an interest in nonprofit management, fundraising, grant writing, philanthropy, public administration, business, communications, community development, or related fields.
Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills.
Have strong research and organizational skills.
Be able to commit approximately 10–15 hours per week during the Fall 2026 semester.
Be able to manage assignments and meet established deadlines.
Demonstrate professionalism, dependability, initiative, and willingness to learn.
Be willing to participate in orientation, supervision, team meetings, and professional-development activities.
Be willing to maintain confidentiality regarding donor, funder, financial, and organizational information.
Previous grant writing or fundraising experience is not required.
Relevant coursework, research projects, writing assignments, student leadership, volunteer service, community involvement, fundraising activities, and other academic or professional experiences may be considered.

Interns will work directly with TFY leadership and receive mentorship, feedback, and opportunities to contribute to real fundraising and grant-development projects.

This internship is designed to help participants understand how nonprofit organizations move from a strong mission and program idea to a sustainable funding strategy that supports long-term community impact.
