Part-Time Math Tutor for Transformative Learning

Can You Transform Math Learning Outcomes?

The Challenge:

At the Applied Scholastics Learning Center, we are looking for a results-driven tutor who is eager to be trained and guided by our center to master our proven methodology, turning student frustration into lasting confidence.

Anyone can solve a math problem on a board, but few have the skill and patience to identify why a student feels stuck or unmotivated and guide them to truly understand the material on their own.

Expected Results:

  • Accurate Diagnosis: Identify the exact concept where a student's comprehension stalled and eliminate the confusion at its root.
  • Independent Learning: Equip K-12 students with effective study methods and tools so they can learn with lasting confidence.
  • Tangible Progress: Deliver measurable improvements in student grades, motivation, and overall attitude toward learning.
  • Clear Communication: Provide honest, transparent progress updates to the Center and Families.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Passion for Student Success: A genuine drive to help others and see students winning.
  • Math Proficiency: Strong conceptual and instructional mastery of K-12 mathematics.
  • Academic Background: Enrolled in or recently completed a degree in Education (K-12, Elementary, Secondary, Substitute Teaching) or Mathematics at a Missouri or Illinois college.
  • Location: Live or study within 20 minutes of Spanish Lake, MO (serving communities across North County MO, St. Louis County MO, and parts of Madison County IL).
  • Training Commitment: Ability to complete 2 weeks of full-time initial training (unpaid) to become validated in our specialized learning techniques and barrier-detection methodology.

What We Offer:

  • Pay: $20/hour for in-person tutoring upon completion and validation of training (unpaid volunteers are also welcome).
  • Flexible Scheduling: Hours arranged within our operating schedule: Monday–Friday, 1:00 PM – 7:00 PM and Saturday, 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM.
  • Proven Pedagogy: High-level tutoring tools that will strengthen your instructional skillset for your entire career.
  • Community Impact: The opportunity to make a lasting difference in Spanish Lake, Ferguson, Jennings, Florissant, and surrounding areas.

If you meet the requirements and take pride in the success of your students, apply today by submitting your resume along with a brief note on your proudest achievement teaching or mentoring others.
